About The Bulk Payment File Creator

This web application is part of a larger Payroll / Xero integration for the Irish market. If you would like to see the tool expanded with greater functionality then please contact us at Parolla, or email/text/call Mark Ogilvie at +353 89 221 9326.

Recommended Xero Setup

This page covers the two methods of creating a Sepa File:

  1. Create a SEPA/Bankline file directly from Xero
  2. Create a SEPA file from a Batch Payment file

Both methods required a valid IBAN number in the Bank Account details of the supplier contact in Xero.

Connecting to Xero Directly

The payment file creator allows you to connect to a Xero organisation, choose available Bills for payment and generate a PAIN.001.001.03 sepa xml output file. The payment generator can also output a Bankline file in csv format.

The system will check each selected bill to try and find the customers bank account IBAN from within Xero. You can enter or override existing IBAN's prior to creating the file.

Please note that we do not store any information, or write any information back to Xero. So you will need to enter your own bank IBAN and OIN in order to complete the file.

  1. The button at the top of this page will direct you to the Xero login screen where you will be authenticated with Xero.
  2. Xero will then ask you to give permission for the site to access your Xero data. Choose the organisation that you wish to run the reports for and confirm access.
  3. You will be redirected back here to search for and select bills.
  4. Choose the bills that you want to add to the payment file.
  5. Select Create Payment
  6. Enter your debit account IBAN, account name, and OIN.
  7. Enter an execution date that the payment will be actioned.
  8. Modify any individual payment details if required.
  9. Create the SEPA or Bankline file.
  10. Copy or email the hash key if required.
  11. Click Reset Xero Connection to chose a different company or to reset your API connection.
Upload Batch Payment File

The batch payment process involves uploading a Xero Batch Payment csv file, and adding some additional information via a form page.

The system will check each payment in the batch file and validate the IBAN associated with the payment.

Please note that we do not store any information, or write any information back to Xero. So you will need to enter your own bank IBAN and OIN in order to complete the file.

  1. The button at the top of this page will direct you to a screen where you can enter the payment file information, and upload the Batch Payment file from Xero.
  2. Enter the details.
  3. Upload the Xero csv.
  4. Click on the download button to retrieve the converted SEPA file.

To Do List

There are some features that could be created to make this tool more helpful. We're open to feedback at Parolla and will try to incorporate suggestions. Some possible improvements, depending on demand are:

  1. Store the debit account bank details.
  2. Save any modified IBAN details back to Xero
  3. Allow entry of a single payment description that gets applied to all payments.
